Optifine tested against Sodium+Lithium+Phosphor on a server with several client-side mods (AppleSkin, Inventory Profiles, Litematica, MiniHUD, Tweakeroo, VoxelMap) The game version is 1.16.3, Java (OpenJDK) versions 8 and 14.0.2, Fancy graphics settings, 10 chunks render distance.

Vanilla vs OptiFine vs OptiFabric vs Sodium/Phosphor/Lithium
Default settings except that the render distance was 18 chunks. Optifine was a pain since it didn't want to load distant chunks, so I had to do a spin or two to get those.

Minecraft CPU Bug Mitigation Impact
How is a sixth-generation Intel CPU model i3-6100 (Skylake)'s performance affected by Linux's Spectre/Meltdown mitigations and TSX Async Abort? These mitigations impact context switches, so to make the test more relevant Minecraft was always running along with QuickSync screen capture and a 1080p video playing in the background. Minecraft 1.16.3 is running at 3K@75 resolution via OptiFine. To turn off mitigations and re-enable full TSX, add "mitigations=off tsx=on" to your kernel boot parameters to test. WARNING: This disables security features against Meltdown/Spectre and the whole Intel CPU bug gang. Use at your own risk.
